Meet Our Team

Dr. Mehta grew up in the suburbs of Boston and attended University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was awarded the University of New England Alumni Scholarship and where he received his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to complete his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, the University hospital for Cornell and Columbia University, and then completed a sports and interventional pain fellowship at the #1 ranked in orthopedics nationwide, the Hospital For Special Surgery in NYC. Throughout his career, Dr. Mehta has dealt with a variety of patient populations, from low-income families in The Bronx, to celebrities in Manhattan and elite collegiate and NFL athletes. Regardless, Dr. Mehta’s approach has always been and will continue to emphasize patient education, interventional treatment, pain management, and returning patients to full mobility so that they can get back to enjoying life. Dr. Mehta holds board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pain Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Mehta has over 14 years of research experience and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. He currently serves as editor and reviewer for Interventional Pain Medicine Reports.

Dr. Zokary is a board-certified physiatrist with a specialization in interventional spine and musculoskeletal pain management, as well as brain injury medicine. He completed his medical education from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2017 and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Wayne State University and Beaumont Health. He further pursued a fellowship in Brain Injury Medicine at Beaumont-Taylor and further honed his expertise with an additional fellowship in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine at Dayton Outpatient Center.

Dr. Zokary excels in advanced interventional procedures for the spine and musculoskeletal system. Actively involved in medical education, he teaches at the Dayton Outpatient NASS fellowship, sharing his expertise with the next generation of specialists. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), the American Medical Association (AMA), the North American Spine Society (NASS), and the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS).

Dr. Smith earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Carolinas Campus. He completed an internship at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City and his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Pennsylvania State University, Hershey Medical Center. He then pursued advanced training in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine at Dayton Outpatient Center, where he now practices.

An osteopathic physician, Dr. Smith incorporates Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT) into his treatment plans for musculoskeletal pain and is actively involved in research on biological injections for discogenic pain. Outside of medicine, he enjoys Kali-Escrima, playing the ukulele, and hydroponic gardening.

Grace Hassan comes to us from Mercy Hospital and brings expertise in providing care for both critically ill and chronically ill patients with a focus on post-trauma care. Grace is passionate about caring for different patient populations, and patients with complicated medical conditions. She has cared for people who experienced falls, motor vehicle crash injuries, and gunshot wounds. Grace is upbeat, friendly and likes to educate and advocate for her patients.

Jacqueline Papalios comes to us from Ohio University where she graduated with honors with a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree. She has an extensive background in geriatrics, where she spent much of her career as the Director of Nursing at a Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation facility. She is kindhearted, compassionate, and responsive to the needs of her patients. When she isn’t busy in the office, she enjoys spending time with her 2 children and playing competitive volleyball year round.

Yolanda, originally from Dayton, Ohio, completed her Masters of Education at Wright State University. She later pursued a career change into healthcare, earning a BSN from The Ohio State University and an Advanced Practitioner Masters degree in Nursing from Mt. Carmel College of Nursing. Yolanda has worked at Ohio State University, Miami Valley Hospital, and in family medicine at Primary Health Solutions and Kettering Health Network. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs, and loves traveling when she can.
