Meet Our Team

Dr. Suresh Gupta, MD, was born and raised in New Delhi, India. After finishing medical school, he moved to the U.S.A. in 1981 where he completed his residency program in Occupational Medicine from Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Dr. Gupta worked as an Epidemic Intelligence Officer for the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for four years before pursuing anesthesiology and pain management. In 1989, Dr. Gupta completed his residency in anesthesiology at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He then completed his residency and fellowship in Pain Management from the University of Cincinnati, where he was trained at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and cared for children with cancer and chronic pain. Dr. Gupta routinely performs outpatient procedures to help Dayton’s Miami Valley residents regain their health, including baclofen pumps in children and adults, spasticity from stroke and multiple sclerosis, morphine pumps, spinal cord stimulators, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty, and more recently percutaneous diskectomy using HydroCision. When Dr. Gupta isn’t at DOC, he enjoys traveling the world, spending time with his family, playing tennis, biking, and ballroom dancing.

Dr. Mehta grew up in the suburbs of Boston and attended University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was awarded the University of New England Alumni Scholarship and where he received his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. He then went on to complete his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, the University hospital for Cornell and Columbia University, and then completed a sports and interventional pain fellowship at the #1 ranked in orthopedics nationwide, the Hospital For Special Surgery in NYC. Throughout his career, Dr. Mehta has dealt with a variety of patient populations, from low-income families in The Bronx, to celebrities in Manhattan and elite collegiate and NFL athletes. Regardless, Dr. Mehta’s approach has always been and will continue to emphasize patient education, interventional treatment, pain management, and returning patients to full mobility so that they can get back to enjoying life. Dr. Mehta holds board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pain Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Mehta has over 14 years of research experience and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. He currently serves as editor and reviewer for Interventional Pain Medicine Reports.
